They are sweet when...

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day Weekend at my moms. And the majority of the time was spent in the pool. It was their first time in the pool this year and they had a blast!
Great times with family and friends!
They are best friends! Everything has to be the same.
It is going to be fun watching them grow up together!
Taylor, Dannah, Ayden, Jameson, Tanner, Myah, and Mitch
These are our sweet friends that we call family. We love when they come play at Dede's. The seven of them played so hard and well together Saturday. So much fun! We love yall!

Slip & Slide Fun

This weekend started our summer slip & slide fun! The kids love it! David and I do to - our bodies just can't handle the impact!
The sacrifices we make for our kids... :)

Marrying into a cake family...

For David's first birthday after we got married, I made him a birthday cake.... oh, it looked awful. My decorating skills were lacking to say the least! I have been fortunate to have four EXTREMELY talented women who have been sweet enough to guide me in my cake adventures. David's mom, grandmother, and sisters are amazing bakers/cake decorators! I am so thankful for their willingness to help me. It is something that I truly enjoy and am so grateful for! I love yall!

This cake was made for a co-worker who
was hosting a bridal shower.

My friend also wanted petit fours, so Nannaw told
me how to make cake squares that would resemble
petit fours to match the cake.

A Child's Understanding

Saturday was a long day for us. We all went to work with David and got home a little after 2:00. We tried to take naps but were unsuccessful. We got cleaned up and headed to Madison to shop - Home Depot, Lowe's, and Wal-Mart. We needed groceries and the kids had earned prizes from the store. However, the kids were AWFUL - they climbed and jumped on everything, knocked and pulled stuff off the shelves. We got their prizes but told them they were not getting them until they showed us how big girls and boys were supposed to act. On the way home the kids were having a conversation when all of the sudden Dannah says, "Can I pray to God?" We said ok and looked at each other curious as to what she was about to say. Dannah said, "God, I forgive you for acting bad a not minding my mommy and daddy in the store. Amen." Then, Jameson said, "God, thank you for the man that found my Spartan. Amen." Even though Dannah got her words mixed up, God knew what she was saying. It blesses my heart that God is working in their lives - it is only by the grace of God that they have an understanding of His forgiveness and mercy!
Later I found out that during Wednesday night church they have been talking about sin and asking God to forgive us so that Jesus, our light to God, would shine in us! They understand so much more than we give them credit for.

Mother's Day

My Mother's day was absolutely wonderful! I am truly blessed to have a wonderful mother that loves me unconditionally. God blessed me with a husband that values me as a wife and mother and two wonderful children that have a heart for God.

For Mother's Day I wanted a necklace that has my kids' names on it, so that's what I got. But David took the kids to the store Saturday night and told them they could get me anything they wanted. Dannah picked out pink roses that we can plant. Jameson picked out a Paula Deen strawberry cheesecake candle. My children and husband are the best!

Saturday the men in our church prepared dinner for all the moms at the playground. It was wonderful. We got to fellowship, eat good food, and play with the kids! We are blessed to have such a wonderful church that is Christ centered!

Dannah worked so hard to figure out how to get herself across the monkey bars and when she got it - she did it about 100 times! The strength and energy of a 4 year old!

Jameson tried really hard but just couldn't get it. That didn't stop him from getting across though - by way of mom and dad helping! He has had issues with Dannah 'winning' at everything because she is stronger or faster - it won't be long until he will be bigger and stronger than his big sister.

Sweet pictures of my babies playing!

With God, all things are possible...

Tuesday morning David and Jameson picked the dogs, Spartan and Bug, up from the vet. Somewhere between Canton and Benton, Spartan (Jameson's dog) jumped out of David's truck. They rode up and down the road looking for him. Jameson said, "Daddy, let's pray to God for Spartan." So they did, but no luck. Later that afternoon David talked to a friend of ours, Andy, and told him what happened. Andy said he had seen Spartan in a rural part of Canton. Andy went back to look for him. He went door to door leaving our number with everyone. The next day we went to Canton to look for him. On the way, the kids had prayed that we would find him and I prayed that God would lead us where to go because we had no idea where to begin. God did just that! A man that lived in Ridgeland and was working in the area had picked Spartan up Tuesday afternoon and asked several neighbors whose it was. God lead us to those same people to find Spartan! We are so thankful to have Spartan back home with us!

We met man who had Spartan at McDonalds. Everyone was so glad to see him.

As soon as we got home, Spartan curled up in his spot on the porch and didn't move til morning!

Wedding Weekend #2

My cousin Russell married his best friend Saturday, May 1, 2010. It was the most beautiful ceremony that I have ever witnessed. The two of them have a passion for Christ that is reflected in their relationship with each other as well as others. So glad to have Elizabeth in the Porter Family! Congratulations! I love yall!
